Smart access to measuring tools – efficient and secure

Ceff St-Imier relies on digital inventory management for maximum control

CEFF (Centre de formation professionnelle Berne francophone — Bern's francophone vocational training centre) is divided into four areas of expertise: crafts, commerce, industry and social health. Its industry section is located in Saint-Imier and offers a range of 13 vocational training courses that lead to a CFC (certificat fédéral de capacité — Swiss vocational education and training diploma) or an AFP (attestation fédérale de formation professionnelle — Swiss vocational education and training certificate).

Their Challenge

Our client was looking for a contemporary solution that would enable them to optimise their inventory management—particularly for their gauges—in their measurement technology workshop.

Our solution

BRW offered a complete solution to meet the customer's quality control needs. Two control stations equipped with different measuring instruments and adapted to their requirements were set up. Then, customised quality control software was deployed to simplify data management and analysis.

Benefits & advantages

Thanks to the traceability and tracking data provided by the distribution cabinet, our customer now benefits from complete control of their inventory, including the following advantages:

  • Identification of the user taking out the items
  • Restricted access by product category
  • Ability to manage all types of products (reusables, consumables, measuring tools)
  • Real-time access to the inventory status
  • Automatic controls (functionality not yet implemented)

In addition to optimised inventory management, these features also offer better training for apprentices, giving them access to technologies they will encounter in their future careers. Increased control and restricted access also ensure more secure and efficient use of available resources.
