Better control, fewer losses – tool management redefined
AFFOLTER optimizes traceability and reduces stock levels with the ToolBox LargoLocated in the heart of the Bernese Jura in Switzerland, the AFFOLTER Group specialises in the manufacture of clock mechanisms as well as the development, production and marketing of CNC machining tools and digital controls. Founded a century ago, this family business has a long history and a solid reputation in its field of activity.
Their Challenge
The machining workshop was faced with inefficient management of its cutting tools and gauges, despite operating a large number of machines. The lack of a centralised tool management solution was making it difficult to locate cutting tools and gauges, thus increasing the risk of tool shortages and disrupting production.
Our solution
To meet these needs, we integrated a ToolBox Largo distribution cabinet. This cabinet centralises all cutting tools and gauges, making them available at a single collection point. In addition, automatic orders have been put in place to ensure continuous availability of tools.
Benefits & advantages
The ToolBox solution has made it possible to centralise all the tools, eliminating the need for each employee to have their own stock. This centralisation has simplified management and access to tools.
The distribution cabinet has also reduced the number of tools stored and minimised losses. Gauges can now be located easily and immediately. Their location is known at any time, thus improving traceability and efficient use.
Thanks to the automatic control system, the risk of tool shortages and the need for urgent orders have been significantly reduced. This option ensures that the necessary tools are available, thus optimising workflow and productivity.
